I can make a pretty safe bet that you are not going to run into anyone like Chip Kidd in the course of your day. He is, in a word, flamboyant. He is also a talented graphic designer for Alfred A. Knopf. Some of his more well-known book jacket designs include Jurassic Park, Naked by David Sedaris, and All the Pretty Horses. In this TED Talk, he takes us through the creative thought process behind his most successful designs. If you love books and book covers, you have to make time for this funny and fascinating talk.
(Disclaimer: Mid-talk, when Kidd is discussing Naked by David Sedaris, there is a crude drawing.)
