I believe our sole (and soul) purpose is to discover our own unique light and let it shine brightly.

When we do this, we choose to fly. We also inspire others to live as their best and highest self simply by modeling our own excellence. By flying, we create a ripple effect, and even more positive energy throughout the world.

Sometimes it feels difficult, if not impossible, in the face of illness, disappointment, tragedy, loss, traumatic memories, and day-to-day stresses to keep aiming high and spreading light. Life can feel overwhelming for sure.

At the same time, those challenges are how we learn, evolve, and grow as human beings. Every stress, struggle, and upheaval we face is an opportunity to rise up, spread our wings, and learn to live that much more brightly.

The question is: How do we do that?

We start with the intention to create change within ourselves. Join me as I share concepts, tools, and practices that will help us all learn to fly.

Choose to Fly posts will fall into three essential categories: Center, Transform, and Elevate.

Center—Centering ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically, allows us to regain our balance more quickly and easily whenever stress or the unexpected makes us wobble. The goal is not perfect balance, but to develop a strong sense of self and daily self-care practices that support us when challenged.

Transform—Our challenges offer us the opportunity for powerful insight and growth. When we begin to look at our lives from that perspective, we can learn to move through difficulties more quickly, resolve past issues, shift beliefs that make us stuck, and develop deep gratitude for the process.

Elevate—We are the creator of our lives. Learn to create, align, and manifest who you want to be, how you want to feel, and the life you want to live.

As you will see, these three areas are fluid and interconnected. Take what works, examine what brings up questions, and overlook that which doesn’t resonate. In other words, make these ideas yours as you see fit.


I have studied, practiced, written about, and taught personal growth and healing for the past 25 years. I am grateful to have a busy private practice that focuses on supporting others as they find their own physical, mental, and emotional balance and light. I have a BA degree from St. Olaf College, hold a California teaching certificate, and am a graduate of the Boulder College of Massage Therapy 1000-hour program. I am trained in acupressure, reflexology, medical intuition, energy medicine, Reiki, and am a certified Neurolinguistic Program practitioner.
